Rafael Rodriguez is a professional guitarist/multi-instrumentalist from the San Francisco Bay Area in California. He began his musical journey at age 10 with the alto saxophone, playing in numerous jazz ensembles during his time in school. But he sought to further his musical ambitions, becoming self-taught in bassoon, drums, voice, bass, and most notably, guitar. Now, Rafa spends his time growing his solo career and performing with the progressive-funk band Half Mad.
Rafa’s musical endeavours range from regularly produced Instagram content to recording and producing dozens of live performances with Half Mad and other local groups. Influenced early on by the likes of modern prog metal and math rock artists, Rafa is active in the contemporary music scene, combining the sounds, colors, and textures of progressive music with modern pop/soul/hip-hop stylings.
Half Mad is a cool bay area band. They perform around. Rafa acts as producer and guitarist. Recently, they put out an EP. Check it out.
